Thermo Fisher Scientific earns innovation awards for three products

Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced that three of its analytical instruments have been included in R&D Magazine's list of the top 100 technology innovations of the year.

Compiled to recognise the best new products across industry, academia and government-sponsored research, the list is a prestigious annual fixture that honours manufacturers for their commitment to innovation.

Award-winning products for 2014 included the Thermo Scientific Delta Ray, an isotope ratio infrared spectrometer for use in CO2 analysis, and the Thermo Scientific RIIDEye X, a handheld radiation isotope identifier designed to detect gamma and neutron radiation sources.

The company also received recognition for its Thermo Scientific Dionex ERS 500, which is the first electrolytically regenerated, high-capacity membrane suppressor that can eliminate the need for chemical reagents during ion chromatography analysis.

Marc Casper, president and chief executive officer of Thermo Fisher Scientific, said: "The R&D 100 Awards recognise our commitment to technology development and our focus on giving customers the tools they need to achieve their own goals for innovation and productivity."

This week, the company announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2014, during which it saw a 33 percent rise in revenues year on year.
