Thermo Fisher Scientific Installs First Glacios Cryo-Electron Microscope for Drug Discovery and Development

Astex Pharmaceuticals have selected the Thermo Scientific Glacios Cryo Transmission Electron Microscope (Cryo-TEM) to help with its research into oncology and diseases of the central nervous system. Glacios Cryo-TEM will be installed at their research and development headquarters in Cambridge and it will connect with the Thermo Scientific Krios Cryo-TEM system installed at Cambridge University, enabling scientists to prescreen samples on the Glacios Cryo-TEM to identify the best quality samples and then move to the higher resolution imaging on the Krios Cryo-TEM.
