Thermo Fisher Scientific launches new lab services offering

Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced the launch of Unity Lab Services, a new solution that helps laboratories to improve productivity and reduce costs.

The offering combines product and laboratory support services and encompasses a wide array of capabilities, including traditional laboratory instrument and equipment services, business analytics, management of laboratory staffing and consumables inventory.

It is designed to be both a comprehensive and customisable service, to be implemented across a broad range of laboratory environments, from single instruments to enterprise-level rollouts.

Marc Casper, president and chief executive officer of Thermo Fisher Scientific, said Unity Lab Services will help clients to benefit from greater efficiency, making it easier for them to innovate.

"In today's business climate our customers are looking for additional ways to increase productivity and reduce costs and we've demonstrated that our integrated services management program can have a dramatic impact on both," he added.

According to the firm's most recent financial report, Thermo Fisher Scientific saw a record-breaking sales performance in the third quarter of 2011.
