Thermo Fisher Scientific presents new products at AACC 2014

Thermo Fisher Scientific is attending the annual meeting ot the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) this week, where it will be presenting its latest clinical laboratory innovations.

The company is to discuss the merits of its expanded portfolio of instruments, equipment, consumables and software at the 2014 AACC Annual Meeting and Clinical Lab Expo in Chicago, including specialty diagnostics, analytical instrument and genetic analysis offerings.

Among the products on display are the firm's ImmunoCAP and EliA blood tests for the diagnosis of allergy and autoimmune diseases, the DRI Drugs of Abuse Assays, CEDIA Cyclosporine Immunoassay and QMS Everolimus Immunoassay, and a suite of next-generation sequencing platforms.

Meanwhile, a new category of Thermo Scientific products that includes high-performance liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry and software will be showcased, plus calibration and quality control tools.

Marc Casper, president and chief executive officer of Thermo Fisher Scientific, said: "We have the scale and depth of capabilities to help these customers drive accuracy and efficiency and ultimately improve the way healthcare is delivered."

This comes after three of the company's analytical instruments were included in R&D Magazine's list of the top 100 technology innovations of the year earlier this month.
