Thermo Fisher Scientific showcases iAutomate at SLAS 2014
Thermo Fisher Scientific has provided a showcase of the benefits of its online automation system configuration tool iAutomate at the recent meeting of the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS).
The company attended the event in San Diego from January 18th to 22nd 2014 to demonstrate a number of its latest offerings, including iAutomate, which is designed to reduce the time associated with configuring and trialing an automation setup.
A self-serve, free-to-use tool, iAutomate currently houses an inventory of more than 100 different instruments and enables the complete configuration of the Orbitor BenchTrak plate mover with standard product lines and service parts.
Users can build their own system to meet application or process requirements quickly and easily, or modify an existing system around the Orbitor or Orbitor BenchTrak devices. The software provides complete product catalogue access and an intuitive user interface.
The company said: "Users within the life science, pharmaceutical, biotech and academic sectors can gain confidence in the design of their specific automated workflow before it is installed."
Other products showcased by Thermo Fisher Scientific at SLAS 2014 included its new Momentum 3.3 automation scheduling software.
