Thermo Fisher Scientific unveils new food safety products at RAFA 2015
Thermo Fisher Scientific has introduced its latest food safety analysis and testing solutions at the seventh annual International Symposium on Recent Advances in Food Analysis (RAFA).
The conference took place in Prague last week and saw the company showcase a range of food safety testing applications that have been optimised to offer exceptional sensitivity and performance.
Its new Q Exactive GC Orbitrap GC-MS/MS device combines high-resolution gas chromatography and Orbitrap mass spectrometry capabilities, making it suited for comprehensive sample characterisation and analysis of contaminants and residues such as pesticides.
Also showcased was the Thermo Scientific DFS Magnetic Sector GC-HRMS, the company's gold standard device for high-performance dioxin and persistent organic pollutants routine analysis. It is designed to deliver quantitative results at low trace levels, thanks to its exceptional sensitivity.
Khalil Divan, senior director of marketing, food and beverage at Thermo Fisher Scientific, said: "Our technology innovations, including our breakthrough Thermo Scientific Q Exactive GC Orbitrap GC-MS, deliver outstanding sensitivity and high-resolution accurate mass capabilities for a new level of performance for food safety testing."
