Thermo Fisher Scientific wins new repository contract
Thermo Fisher Scientific has been named by the National Children’s Study (NCS) as its new biological and environmental sample repository partner.
Research currently being undertaken by the NCS is examining the effects of environmental influences on the health and development of 100,000 children and monitors their progress from before birth until the age of 21.
Thermo Fisher Scientific will produce a biorepository to handle the organisation as well as deal with the storing of patient specimens and environmental samples for the study’s duration.
“The project demands the careful handling and storing of countless samples over many years, and Fisher BioServices’ track record as the leader in biorepository services made this an ideal alliance,” Marc Casper, president and chief executive officer of Thermo Fisher Scientific, commented.
In November, Thermo Fisher Scientific announced the launch of its latest biomarker test for the European market, which was developed by its recent acquisition Brahms AG.
