Thermo Fisher X-ray sensor: Increases reliability while cutting costs
Thermo Fisher has introduced its new X-ray master sensor at an international plastics and rubber show.
This year’s K Trade event in Germany was the setting for the unveiling of the firm’s "non-contacting weight and thickness measurement system suitable for a wide range of sheet products, from film to fibreglass."
According to Thermo Fisher, the new X-ray master sensor incorporates "unique technologies and features" that make it ideal for materials and processes where accuracy, safety and superior results are demanded.
"We listened to our customers’ demands and responded by creating a unique X-ray sensor that can be used across a broad product thickness range from microns to millimetres," said Ray Shead, product and marketing manager for Thermo Fisher Scientific.
"With the X-Ray master sensor, our customers are able to optimise their processes with accurate measurements and effective control strategies and realise a sound return on investment – every time," he continued.
Ensuring accurate selective measurement using a digitally tuned X-ray source, the low-power X-ray tube is intended to reduce heat production and eliminate the need for external cooling, resulting in increased reliability and reduced maintenance costs.
