Tyto report highlights leading UK tech sector influencers

28th November 2017

Tyto has published a new industry report that identifies the most influential figures in the UK technology sector.

The Tyto Tech 500 Power List is the first to assess social, online and offline influence as part of a robust data-driven ranking method. It showed that 60 percent of tech influencers are business leaders, with the fintech and marketing and advertising technology sectors producing the most influential figures.

Stephen Kelly, chief executive officer of Sage Group, was named as the top tech influencer, followed by TechCrunch editor-at-large Mike Butcher, Social Chain chief executive Steven Bartlett, IBM's global marketing head Jeremy Waite and London Advocates founder Russ Shaw.

Additionally, the report showed that 25 percent of tech influencers were journalists, with media figures more likely to lead the conversation in less mature sectors. It also offered evidence of a gender imbalance, with 76 percent of those included being male.

Brendon Craigie, Tyto co-founder and managing partner, said: "The individuals who've made this year's Tyto Tech 500 Power List combine passion, purpose and career position into far-reaching public personas that are truly shaping the technology agenda."
