UCB announces resignation of chief financial officer

3rd July 2007

UCB has announced that its executive vice president and chief financial officer Luc Missorten has decided to leave the firm in order to pursue other employment opportunities outside of the company.

Mr Missorten will leave the firm at the start of September this year, with UCB promising the announcement of his successor prior to this date to ensure an orderly handover of the role to its new occupant.

Having joined UCB in February 2004 as general manager of UCB Pharma Spain, Mr Missorten was promoted to the position of chief financial officer in November of that year. Prior to his time at the company, Mr Missorten was chief financial officer at Interbrew – the firm now known as InBev.

Mr Missorten is currently a director and chairman of the audit committee of the Vandemoortele group.

Roch Doliveux, chief executive officer of UCB, said: “I would like to pay particular tribute to Luc Missorten. Luc built and led a high performing team of finance professionals.

“He was also instrumental in the integration of Celltech and the acquisition of Schwarz Pharma.”

He thanked Mr Missorten for his contribution to the recent changes made at UCB and wished him success in his future work.

In January 2007, UCB and Schwarz Phama announced the initiation of negotiations to an end of the domination and profit transfer between the firms.
