UCB names new head for UK and Ireland

UCB has announced the appointment of Steve Turley as its new managing director for the UK and Ireland.

Mr Turley can offer more than 20 years of commercial experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, having most recently been employed in the corresponding role at Lundbeck. Other previous employers include Roche, Actelion and Merck Sharp and Dohme.

He has worked across a range of primary and specialty therapy areas at both local and international levels, and will now become a core member of UCB's European leadership team, reporting to regional head Khoso Baluch.

In addition to his strong commercial leadership experience, the new recruit can also offer significant experience in market access and healthcare policy.

Mr Turley said: "I am pleased to be joining a dynamic business that is focused on delivering medicines that really deliver for patients. I am looking forward to building on that with our team here."

During the first nine months of 2015, the company saw a 19 percent year-on-year increase in revenue, thanks to strong growth of its core medicines.
