UCB to sponsor epilepsy presentations at ECE 2012
UCB has announced that it will be sponsoring several data presentations on epilepsy at the 2012 European Congress on Epileptology (EPE), which begins in London this week.
Data involving UCB's marketed therapies Vimpat and Keppra will be discussed alongside results from a trial of the investigational therapy brivaracetam at the event, which runs from September 30th to October 4th.
Real-world data on the efficacy of Vimpat will form the basis for discussion, while an analysis examining health-related quality of life among members of the PatientsLikeMe epilepsy community will also be presented.
Dr Barbara Schauble, senior director for global medical affairs at UCB, said: "The information to be presented at this year's ECE shares data across UCB's broad epilepsy portfolio and demonstrates our continued commitment to research and improving the lives of people living with this disease."
Earlier this month, the company launched a pilot biotechnology plant at its Braine-L'Alleud site in Belgium, which will allow it to produce cell culture-based therapeutic proteins more effectively in future.
