Unilever agrees outsourcing deal with Capgemini

27th December 2012

Unilever has selected consulting, technology and outsourcing services provider Capgemini as its new finance and accounting service partner.

The firm has been named as one of Unilever's global strategic suppliers under its Partner to Win programme and awarded it a five-year outsourcing contract valued at more than 100 million euros (82.09 million pounds).

It will be providing finance and accounting functions from Chile, Brazil, Guatemala, India, Singapore and China across more than 130 countries from January 2013 onwards.

Over the past seven years, Capgemini has been delivering Unilever’s southern hemisphere Record to Report operations and global intercompany processes, as well as access control and reporting and monitoring functions globally.

Christian Kaufmann, Unilever's vice-president for finance services, said: "If we are to achieve the continuous improvement we need … to reach our goal of doubling the size of our business while halving our environmental impact, we need leading-edge financial services."

This comes after the company announced the appointment of Charlotte Carroll as its new UK and Ireland communications director earlier this month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801513352-ADNFCR
