Virbac announces financial results for 2013
Virbac has announced its financial results for 2013.
The animal health company saw its revenues grow by 5.9 percent during the 12 months, although sales growth was largely weakened throughout 2013 by the unfavourable evolution of foreign exchange rates. Virbac said sales would have increased by 10.5 percent at constant parities.
Acquisitions made in 2012 in Chile and New Zealand helped the company's performance, while strong organic growth in the second six months of 2013 allowed the figure to reach 2.1 percent on the whole-year basis.
Current operating profit increased by 6.9 percent, pushing it close to 105 million euros for the period. The release also demonstrated a slight improvement when comparing operating profit to a percentage of sales, up to 14.2 percent from the 14.1 percent seen in 2012.
A temporary withdrawal of Iverhart Plus in the US also took its toll on Virbac's results.
