Virbac launches new pest and parasite prevention aid Deltanil
Virbac has announced the launch of Deltanil, a parasite control aid that features an innovative new means of application.
The deltamethrin-based pour-on solution is indicated in dairy and beef cattle for use against flies and lice with a zero milk withdrawal period. It can also be effective in sheep against ticks, lice, keds and blowfly strike, and against lice and ticks in lambs.
It utilises the Farmpack and Flexibag dispensing system, which were jointly awarded the 2014 PharmaPack Award for Innovative Packaging. The Farmpack is a light, robust backpack that holds a 2.5 litre Flexibag of Deltanil, sufficient for the treatment of 250 cattle.
As a result, Deltanil can offer a two-year proven stability period after opening and a three-year shelf life if left unopened.
Brigitte Goasduf, Virbac's product manager for large animals, said: "We believe that Deltanil, with its zero-milk withdrawal period for dairy cattle and sheep and innovative Farmpack and Flexibag dispensing system, sets a new standard for products of this type."
The firm is one of the top ten largest animal health companies in the world, operating in more than 100 countries.
