Virbac reports double-digit sales growth for 2015

Virbac has announced its financial results for 2015, during which it achieved an annual sales total of 852.2 million euros (651.75 million pounds).

This represented a 10.2 percent year-on-year increase, which was largely attributed to the positive impact of recent exchange rate trends and strategic acquisitions.

Virbac's US operations experienced a relatively disrupted year in 2015, due to a deceleration of the company's legacy business following the interruption of the manufacturing and deliveries from its Saint Louis facility  and the release process of its Iverhart Plus manufactured batches taking longer than expected.

However, its international divisions helped to offset these difficulties, with all geographies contributing positively to this growth aside from France, which experienced a decrease in antibiotics sales.

Its strong performance in Europe was attributable to its recent ramp-up of new product launches, mainly in the category of parasiticides for companion animals such as Effitix and Milpro, and the new pet-food range it introduced recently.
