Walgreen Boots Alliance signs global supply deal with Fareva

Walgreens Boots Alliance has formed a long-term global agreement with Fareva for the manufacture and supply of beauty brands and private label products.

Under the terms of the deal, Fareva – a leading household, cosmetic and pharmaceutical contract manufacturer based in France – will take ownership of Walgreens Boots Alliance's contract manufacturing business BCM, which operates factories in the UK, France and Germany.

The partnership would include products for sale in the US and would provide Walgreens Boots Alliance with a core multinational manufacturing and development resource, which would play a key role in accelerating its global product strategy.

Fareva offers manufacturing capabilities spanning 11 countries, including the US, as well as significant research and development resources. Walgreens Boots Alliance will be able to benefit from access to these when this deal is completed before the end of the year.

This will help to strengthen the firm's existing position as the largest retail pharmacy, health and daily living business in the world, employing more than 400,000 people globally.
