Waters introduces comprehensive new Biopharmaceutical System
Waters has unveiled a comprehensive new system for use in drug research which brings together the functions of numerous devices.
The Waters Biopharmaceutical System Solution has been unveiled at a symposium in Washington and combines the features of the Acquity UPLC H-Class Bio System, the Waters Peptide and Protein Separation Technology Columns, the Xevo G2 Tof Mass Spectrometer and the UNIFI Scientific Information System.
It is a scalable and flexible system which provides functions such as liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry and bioinformatics, unifying all aspects of biotherapeutic analyses and workflows.
Waters states that it also offers an intuitive interface, easy transfer of information and full compliance with various regulatory requirements.
Jeff Mazzeo, director of biopharmaceutical business operations for Waters, said it represents "a total system for protein characterisation using high-end mass spectrometry that supports good manufacturing practices regulations that biopharmaceutical companies are required to comply with".
This week, Waters also introduced the newest version of the Xevo G2 Tof mass spectrometer, which offers more sensitive and accurate performance than ever.
