Waters launches new line of Cortecs columns

14th May 2014

Waters has announced the launch of a new line of 2.7-micron silica-based, solid-core particle columns for use in high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) applications.

The latest addition to the Cortecs column range are designed for analytical scientists who wish to maximise performance on their existing systems, running at lower pressures while delivering high efficiencies.

Using these columns, lab technicians will be able to use longer column lengths to improve resolution, or higher flow rates to speed instrument analysis times and increase their overall throughput.

The Cortecs family has proven a success since the company introduced its first set of 1.6 micron solid-core particle columns last year.

Michael Yelle, vice-president of Waters' consumables business unit, said: "With the introduction of Cortecs 2.7-micron columns, Waters now gives chromatographic laboratories the ability to improve the resolution, speed and sensitivity of their HPLC separations."

During the first quarter of 2014, the firm generated sales of $431 million (256.81 million pounds), which was roughly equal with Q1 2013.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801720306-ADNFCR
