Waters unveils new chromatography data system

Waters has officially launched its new Empower 3 chromatography data system (CDS).

The company said industry calls for a standardised CDS service at enterprise level had been answered by the product, which offers a host of usability and workflow enhancements.

Empower 3 is a scalable platform designed to easily slot into existing corporate infrastructure, according to Waters.

Dr Rohit Khanna, vice-president of marketing at the company, said the need for a standardised system of data management is one of the main issues currently facing laboratory scientists and information technology managers.

"Addressing this issue of standardisation, Empower 3 CDS is designed to bring significant value to science-driven organisations at the enterprise level," he commented.

Dr Khanna suggested the legacy of acquisitions or multiple research and development sites is often to blame for a lack of consistency in data management.

Last month, Waters announced that the Drug Control Centre at King's College London had joined the company's Centers of Innovation Program.
