Waters wins pair of product awards at Pittcon 2015

Waters has won industry awards for a pair of its newest products at the 2015 Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy, also known as Pittcon.

The Waters full spectrum molecular imaging system, which was introduced this week, was selected as the recipient of the Pittcon Editors' Silver award for the most innovative product demonstrated at the event.

Meanwhile, the Acquity UltraPerformance LC Technology was recognised with the SelectScience Reviewers' Choice Award, which honours the product with the best customer reviews and ratings on the SelectScience online community resource.

The Acquity system was a Pittcon Editor’s Gold Award winner in 2014 and has proven a success since its market launch. The full spectrum molecular imaging system will launch in the third quarter of 2015.

Dr Jeff Mazzeo, director for health sciences at Waters, said: "We are committed to giving cell biologists, biochemists, clinical researchers and analytical scientists the tools they need to obtain a maximum amount of information to advance their research into human health."

This comes after Waters announced a new collaboration with PerkinElmer last month that will bring together the companies' respective technology in the field of chromatography.
