Weber Shandwick wins ABPI public affairs and communications brief
Weber Shandwick has won a new contract with the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI), the representative body of innovative research-based biopharmaceutical companies in the UK.
The contract will come into effect on January 1st 2014 and will see Weber Shandwick tasked with strengthening the ABPI's proactive engagement with key stakeholders as it seeks to support the continued growth of the sector ahead of the next general election.
Covering public affairs monitoring, as well as providing policy, public affairs and communications support to the ABPI's in-house team, the brief was handed to Weber Shandwick after it presented a compelling campaigning approach and a strong understanding of the client's needs.
Weber Shandwick's head of healthcare public affairs Tamora Langley said: "This pre-election period provides a unique opportunity for the ABPI to set the industry agenda and we look forward to helping support the objectives of the association and its members."
The agency has enjoyed great success in 2013 and was named international consultancy of the year at the annual PRWeek Awards in London this October.
