Welch Allyn announces restructuring initiatives

13th September 2012

Welch Allyn has announced that it will be carrying out extensive global restructuring as it seeks to adapt to a changing healthcare environment.

The company will reshape its business and realign resources over the next three years, establishing three distinct new product development and technology centres, two in the US and one in Singapore.

It will also be creating a global finance shared service centre in Mexico, while a 90-day evaluation of its European operations is being carried out to determine the optimal deployment of the business in this region.

These changes will enable the company to maintain its investment in new products, while also accounting for the potential impact of incoming legislation.

Welch Allyn's president and chief executive officer Steve Meyer said: "Our plan is well thought-out and tied to the rapidly changing healthcare market, and in keeping with our history of making sure we treat our employees fairly."

The business was originally founded in 1915 and has since become a prominent global manufacturer and developer of medical devices, spanning a wide range of applications.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801448994-ADNFCR
