Welch Allyn introduces Masimo total haemoglobin to CVSM
Welch Allyn has announced the availability of Masimo continuous and non-invasive total haemoglobin (SpHb) compatibility for the Connex Vital Signs Monitor (CVSM).
The company has agreed a strategic alliance with Masimo to introduce this new parameter to its analytical system, allowing clinicians to measure haemoglobin at the point of care without drawing blood.
Available for all CVSM devices upgraded with the Masimo rainbow SET platform, the parameter utilises signal processing of multiple wavelengths of light obtained from easy-to-apply finger sensors.
This allows early warning signs of possible bleeding to be detected, which facilitates earlier clinical interventions.
Kelley Murphy, global category director at Welch Allyn, said: "The addition of Masimo SpHb to our CVSM gives healthcare professionals in acute care settings complete and real-time visibility of one of their patients' critical vital signs."
Last week, Welch Allyn announced that it has been presented with a medical equipment vendor of the year award from healthcare company and partner Henry Schein.
