Welch Allyn to use Masimo Rainbow SET technology in new products
Welch Allyn has signed a deal that will allow it to deploy non-invasive measurement technology in a range of new products.
The firms' technology integration strategy will see Welch Allyn incorporate the Masimo Rainbow SET Pulse CO-Oximetry platform in its new product line-up, beginning with the Connex Vital Signs Monitor, which was released last August.
Masimo Rainbow SET provides detailed physiological data across a wide array of parameters that make it easier for clinicians to assess their patients' symptoms and detect conditions early.
Its inherent upgradeability, combined with the flexibility of Welch Allyn's own devices, means that it will also be available as an optional upgrade for a number of existing Welch Allyn offerings.
Steve Meyer, Welch Allyn's executive vice-president and chief global business officer, said the firm is "excited to provide our customers with the option of enabling the Masimo parameters within our patient monitoring devices in a manner that considers their evolving needs over time."
Last month, the company attended the 2011 Arab Health Exhibition and Congress in Dubai, where it demonstrated new innovations such as the 1500 Patient Monitor and Connex Electronic Vitals Documentation System.
