Welch Allyn wins AMCP award for community services

8th November 2011

Welch Allyn has been presented with an industry accolade for its excellence in community service and corporate social responsibility (CSR) by an industry body.

The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) has granted a Communitas Award to the medical technology company in honour of its recent volunteer initiative, called A Show of Hands.

This scheme was conducted in the US earlier this year and involved employees giving their time to help not-for-profit organisations with programmes aiding schools, the homeless and terminally ill children.

Communitas awards are presented based on the effectiveness and scope of outreach schemes, including volunteer programmes or amendments to business practices to benefit communities.

David Allyn, director of CSR at Welch Allyn, said: "There is a motto at Welch Allyn – 'be always kind and true' – that we try to live up to every day."

Last month, the company announced the completion of its takeover of Trimline Medical Products, which will allow it to expand its business reach and product offerings.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800789608-ADNFCR
