William Ransom appoints new chief executive
William Ransom has announced that Fred Whitcomb is to replace Ivor Harrison as chief executive of the company.
Mr Whitcomb served as an executive director for the healthcare firm between 2005 and 2007 and rejoined the company in the capacity of non-executive director earlier this year.
He will move into the chief executive role on September 27th 2010, when Mr Harrison departs the company in order to take up a position at the newly-founded health snacks business Snapz Ltd.
Other changes to William Ransom's board include the departure of David Suddens and Tim Bridge as of October 28th, while Sir Roger Jones will become its non-executive chairman.
The company said: "The board would like to thank Ivor for his major contribution in returning William Ransom to financial stability and wish him well in his new venture."
Earlier this year, William Ransom announced the sale of certain assets and liabilities currently owned by its Optima Italia subsidiary, a move designed to improve the company's profitability.
