William Ransom posts interim 6-month financial results
William Ransom has revealed its interim financial results for the six months to September 30th 2009, revealing that its group sales reached 16.7 million pounds during the period.
Sales within the firm’s pharmacy products division rose to 4.4 million pounds in the timeframe, compared to 3.1 million during the same time of 2008.
This marks an increase of 42 per cent.
Three major areas have been focused upon by the division – price increases to reflect material cost changes, an improvement in labour efficiencies, and establishing better manufacturing standards.
Non-executive chairman of the organisation David Suddens explained: “Much has been achieved in very testing business and economic circumstances, but the outlook remains uncertain. The management team is making strenuous efforts to return the business to financial stability.”
William Ransom was founded 160 years ago in Hitchin in Hertfordshire by its namesake – who was a botanist and a contemporary of author and naturalist Charles Darwin.
