WiNFUND Uses Communications Expertise of Havas in New Initiative

13th April 2023

The new Women in Innovation Fund (WiNFUND) will utilise the expertise of healthcare communications firm, Havas SO, for all of its communication initiatives.

To hasten the growth of matriarchal health start-ups, a portion of the funding for this will come from the selling of digital assets.

This effort is a collaboration between Reckitt and the Health Innovation and Investment Exchange, who are together working in alliance with the Kofi Annan Foundation and the Eco Bank Foundation.

The finance will be input into female business leaders who are driving pioneering healthcare businesses, facilitating the establishment of strong economic systems within communities, and increasing the availability of treatments.

Co-founder of WiNFUND and senior staff member at Reckitt, Patricia O’Hayer, explained that “WiNFUND is an innovative model that will help entrepreneurs grow by building an engaged, global community that will provide business support and financing through the sale of unique NFTs.”

Uganda based Shamim Nabuuma Kaliisa, who founded the Community Healthcare Innovation Lab, using AI technology to screen women in rural areas for cervical and breast cancer, is one of the programmes initial recipients.

The WiNFUND expands on Reckitt’s Fight for Access Accelerator, an international initiative to encourage new social organisations that promote the wider availability of healthcare.
