Wyeth announces senior management promotions

3rd December 2007

Wyeth has announced a number of promotions of its staff who have been key players in the company’s success in recent years.

These changes include the appointment of Joseph M Mahady to president of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Richard R DeLuca to president of Fort Dodge Animal Health and Denise Peppard to senior vice-president of human resources at Wyeth, which will be effective from the start of 2008.

Another appointment, effective from December 1st 2007, is the appointment of Cavan M Redmond to president of Wyeth Consumer Healthcare, with Douglas A Rogers named as president of US and global new business at the unit.

Bernard Poussot, president and chief operating officer of Wyeth, said: “As I prepare for the role of chief executive officer in January, I am pleased to have these experienced executives in place to build on Wyeth’s strong foundation of success established by Bob Essner.”

He added that the company is happy to have developed and promoted staff from within the firm to fill these vacancies, allowing the firm to invest in research development and bringing new products to market in order to manage costs as an integral part of its business plan for growth.

In October 2007, Wyeth announced the election of Mr Poussot as president and chief executive officer of Wyeth effective from January 1st 2008, with current head Mr Essner describing his appointment as the result of the firm’s continuing succession management process.
