Wyeth launches Centrum Cardio

Wyeth Consumer Healthcare, a division of Wyeth, has announced the launch of its complete multivitamin Centrum Cadio.

The pharmaceutical company states that Centrum Cardio is the first and only multivitamin that can help lower cholesterol.

In addition, Wyeth has announced a reformulated line of other Centrum multivitamins that provide a better balance of key nutrients.

Dwight Brown, a senior vice president at Wyeth Consumer Healthcare, confirmed the company’s commitment to ensuring that individuals get the nutrients they need everyday.

“Centrum Cardio and the reformulated line of Centrum products give consumers key nutrients – at recommended levels -that work together,” he added.

The new Centro Cardio contains CoroWise phytosterols, a natural ingredient derived from soy beans that have been shown to lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease.

“We are pleased that Centrum now offers Centrum Cardio for the millions of consumers who are concerned about maintaining a healthy heart,” Mr Brown said.

Earlier this month, Wyeth announced the election of a new president and chief executive officer, with Bernard Poussot winning the appointment to the role. He will assume the responsibilities of the position from the start of 2008.
