Wyeth Pharmaceuticals included in top pipeline selection

Wyeth division Wyeth Pharmaceuticals announced yesterday it had been noted in a top ten selection for the “best women’s health pipeline”.

R&D Directions announced the decision in its magazine’s Top 10 Pipeline Report, which appears in the current issue.

It is the fourth consecutive mention for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals in the selection, which Wyeth Research senior vice-president and Wyeth president Dr Robert R Ruffalo said proves the efforts made by the company to become a world-class organisation.

“Being recognised for our efforts in women’s health is particularly meaningful as we continue to build on four decades of experience to develop needed new therapies for women’s healthcare,” he added.

Wyeth’s current research and development projects across the globe include a number of products specifically targeted at the treatment of conditions predominantly affecting women, such as uterine fibroids, osteoporosis and breast cancer.

Yesterday also say Wyeth Pharmaceuticals announce the extension of its standstill period with Teva Pharmaceuticals.

The agreement will expire on January 31st of this year and within this time both parties hope to reach a settlement regarding the shipping of a pantoprazole tablet.
