Zimmer achieves strong growth in 2013
Zimmer has published its financial results for the full 2013 business year, during which it generated a strong annual sales total of $4.62 billion (2.82 billion pounds).
This represented a 3.4 percent year-on-year increase in sales, with $1.24 billion of this total generated during the fourth quarter of the year – up by 5.1 percent on Q4 2012.
Successful commercialisation of a number of innovative new offerings helped to drive this performance, with the launch of the Persona Personalised Knee System and its accompanying suite of next-generation intelligent instruments providing a key highlight.
The company expects full-year revenues for 2014 to increase between three and five percent on a constant currency basis.
David Dvorak, Zimmer's president and chief executive officer, said: "We are confident that our strategy positions the company for continued growth in 2014 and beyond, in concert with our ongoing commitments to quality and operational excellence and disciplined capital management."
This comes after the firm announced the US launch of its new Puros Demineralised Bone Matrix Block and Strip earlier this week.
