Zoetis names product manager for pet preventatives portfolio

Zoetis has announced the appointment of Stuart Lawton as a product manager within its companion animal preventatives business.

Mr Lawton can boast 16 years of account management experience, having joined Zoetis as an account manager last year before moving into the marketing department. Prior to this, he held account manager positions at Elanco, Merial and Schering-Plough.

In his new role, he will be responsible for helping to oversee the launch of Simparica, the company's new ecto-parasiticide for dogs, as well as the established Versican Plus vaccine range.

He is currently studying for an master's degree in management from Aberdeen Business School to enhance his business and marketing skills.

Mr Lawton said: "I am very pleased to be moving into this new role at what is a very busy and exciting time at Zoetis, particularly with the recent launch of Simparica."

Introduced in the UK last month, Simparica is intended for the treatment of flea, tick and mite infestations, and is the only oral isoxazoline treatment indicated for four species of ticks in Europe.
