Zoll to launch new defibrillator range

Zoll, the medical devices company, has previewed a new defibrillator range it has earmarked for a 2007 launch.

The company claims its comprehensive defibrillator portfolio will continue to drive growth in the company, following on from the original NTP-1000 model, to other recently introduced products like the E Series and AutoPulse devices.

Zoll added that it hoped to achieve a “similar result” with its new product, although the details of the product were not discussed.

Richard A Packer, president and chief executive officer of Zoll, said that “significant investment” into the company’s product pipeline had yielded dividends in the marketplace, with new products in all defibrillator markets.

He stated: “Launch of this new hospital product in 2007 will mark the culmination of Zoll’s most aggressive product-line expansion since 1998.”

“We believe that this portfolio will drive growth over the next few years, and help to address the worldwide problem of death from sudden cardiac arrest,” Mr Packer stated.

He concluded by saying that Zoll was now positioned as the only company offering “multiple aspects” of resuscitation technology.

The company claims to have set a number of milestones in resuscitation history, such as the first use of external defibrillation in 1956.
