Mission Accomplished! Zenopa takes on the Chiltern 3 Peaks
Team Zenopa dusted off their walking boots, packed some provisions and geared themselves up to join 700 other participants in the Chiltern Three Peaks Challenge on Sunday (10th September) to help raises awareness and money for Rennie Grove Hospice Care.
With a choice of a 5, 9 or 18 mile walk, the team signed up to take on the full 18 miles, starting in Princes Risborough, tackling Whiteleaf Cross’ steep steps and Coombe Hill as the first two peaks within the first 5 miles, walking through Wendover all the way to Tring station, and then finding the inner strength to battle through the wind and make it to the finishing line at Ivinghoe Beacon, drinking in the beautiful countryside the Chilterns has to offer along the way.
“It was a fantastic and well organised day,” comments Managing Director and participant, Mark Denton. ‘We as a company are always looking for different challenges to support local charities, and it was wonderful to be able to take part and raise money for a charity that is close to many of our team’s hearts”
Rennie Grove Hospice is made up of two charities (Iain Rennie and Grove House) who joined forces in 2011 as they both shared the same vision and values; to provide care and support to patients and their families who suffer with cancer and other life limiting illnesses. Through a unique 24/7 responsive at home service, it is made possible for patients to be able to choose how and where they would like to be cared for, and support is provided for both the patient and their families both during illnesses, and after bereavement. The charity hosts a number of fundraising events throughout the year to help raise awareness and money, and heavily relies on public support to keep the charity going.
In the eight years that the Chiltern Three Peaks has been running, the walk has raised more than £350,000 for Rennie Grove. All the money raised has contributed to the charities unique services for both patients and their families affected by cancer and other life limiting illnesses.
To date, Zenopa have raised over £1,200http://www.justgiving.com/Zenopa-Ltd.
