Role Overview

This is a field-based Account Executive role covering East England and North London. The territory includes a mix of established NHS trusts and private hospital accounts, offering both stability and strong growth opportunity.

The role operates on a 50/50 split between account management and business development. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing existing relationships, securing new product evaluations and supporting clinical teams through trial processes to drive long-term adoption and revenue growth.

You will report directly to the Head of Sales & Strategy and work closely with a growing national team of Account Managers, Clinical specialists and Marketing colleagues. The position involves four days per week in the field and one day working from home.

Our client is a globally established medical technology organisation specialising in surgical and post-surgical care solutions. The UK division focuses on wound closure products supplied into the secondary care market and holds a strong position across NHS frameworks for both quality and cost.

The organisation is recognised internationally for its leadership in surgical needle manufacturing, with products used in one in five surgeries worldwide. In the UK market, the business delivers a significant cost advantage versus competitors while maintaining high levels of clinical acceptance across more than 300 hospitals. The UK commercial team is continuing to expand and is supported by the wider international group, with new product launches and further growth plans underway.

Role Requirements

Manage and develop existing hospital accounts across the territory
Identify and secure new product evaluation opportunities
Support theatre teams and clinical stakeholders during product trials
Build strong relationships with consultants, theatre managers and procurement teams
Convert evaluations into long-term product adoption
Deliver sales growth in line with agreed territory targets
Maintain structured territory planning and accurate reporting
Represent the organisation professionally within clinical and theatre environments

Person Specifications

We are seeking a commercially driven and ambitious individual who is confident operating within clinical and theatre environments.

The ideal candidate will have:
A degree in Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences or a related discipline
Ideally 1+ year of theatre-based medical sales experience

We will also consider:
Life Sciences graduates with exposure to the theatre environment
High-potential graduates with strong commercial experience and a clear desire to build a career in medical sales

Confidence engaging with consultants and senior clinical stakeholders
Ability to build long-term professional relationships
Resilience and drive within a target-focused environment
Structured and proactive territory management approach
Long-term ambition and desire to grow within a scaling organisation
