Account Manager
Role Overview
This role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of a Foot & Ankle portfolio across South London and the South East. As an Extremities Account Manager, you will manage and grow a defined territory, working closely with surgeons, theatre teams, and procurement stakeholders across NHS and private healthcare settings.
The role is focused on practical, clinically led selling. You will support product evaluations, trials, and conversions, helping clinical teams assess solutions in real-world use while navigating procurement requirements to deliver sustainable, long-term account growth.
Company Information
Our client is a specialist medical device distributor operating within the orthopaedics market, with a strong focus on Foot & Ankle and related extremities portfolios. The organisation works closely with established manufacturing partners to bring clinically validated products to UK hospitals and clinics.
The business is known for its practical, clinician-focused approach, supporting customers through product evaluations, trials, and ongoing use rather than transactional selling. Its position in the market is built on credibility with surgeons, reliable service, and the ability to support hospitals in adopting alternative solutions within both NHS and private healthcare environments.
Role Requirements
Achieve agreed sales targets and drive portfolio growth across the Foot & Ankle territory.
Identify opportunities to convert accounts from incumbent suppliers through structured, clinically focused engagement.
Develop new business while increasing product usage and adoption within existing hospital and clinic accounts.
Build and maintain credible working relationships with surgeons, theatre teams, and procurement stakeholders.
Person Specifications
Experience in orthopaedics, ideally within Extremities, Foot & Ankle, Sports Medicine, or a closely related medical device portfolio.
Demonstrated success in winning new business, converting accounts, and competing against established suppliers.
Confident engaging with surgeons and wider clinical stakeholders in theatre and clinical settings.
Strong understanding of NHS and private healthcare systems, including procurement processes, value analysis, and tender environments.
Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable managing a territory independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture.
