Field Calibration Engineer
Role Overview
You will be primarily based at the company office, with occasional travel to client sites, responsible for calibrating, maintaining, and performing minor repairs on audiometric equipment. You will use a custom-designed calibration system (ADACS) that controls the calibration process and generates calibration certificates, job reports, and other related documentation.

Our client are a specialised company providing calibration and repair services for audiometric, acoustic and vibration instrumentation. The company has a laboratory facility in Hamilton, Lanarkshire and in Birmingham, West Midlands providing an on-site calibration service which covers the UK and Ireland supported by an existing team of engineers. Our client are leaders in the field of audiometric calibration and hold UKAS accreditation for the calibration of measurement microphones and audiometers.
Role Requirements
Calibrate, maintain, and perform minor repairs on audiometric equipment at company premises.
Follow ISO 9001 procedures and UKAS accreditation requirements, achieving and maintaining UKAS signatory status.
Ensure company equipment and vehicles are kept in good working order and serviced as required.
Provide customer feedback on calibration needs and promote the companys products and services professionally.
Demonstrate high engineering standards and maintain courteous, professional communication with customers.
Report any issues or concerns from site visits promptly to colleagues and management.
Person Specifications
Minimum HNC or HND in electronics, science, engineering, or a related discipline.
Previous calibration experience is beneficial but not essential; comprehensive training will be provided.
Basic electronic troubleshooting and debugging skills, including familiarity with debug equipment.
Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical documentation and procedures accurately.
Strong organizational skills to effectively plan work and manage time.
Excellent communication and customer service skills to maintain positive client relationships.
Ability to perform well under pressure and adapt to changing work demands.
Maintain a professional and smart personal appearance at all times.
Take initiative in making decisions and advising customers on repair options.
Efficient job planning to optimize on-site time, minimize return visits, and reduce the need for overnight stays.
Proficient in using PCs with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office packages including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
