Field Service Engineer
Role Overview
This is a validation-focused Field Service Engineering role supporting hospitals, sterile services departments, and endoscopy units. You will take ownership of servicing, testing, and compliance activities across decontamination systems, ensuring equipment operates in line with HTM guidance and recognised standards.
The role combines structured validation work with fault diagnosis and repair, with a clear emphasis on regulatory compliance, process control, and safe system performance.

This opportunity sits within their specialist Decontamination team, supporting the service, testing, and validation of critical equipment including washer disinfectors, steam sterilisers, and endoscopy reprocessing systems. The culture is structured and safety-led, with engineers operating as trusted technical authorities responsible for compliance, documentation accuracy, and the reliable performance of essential infrastructure.
Role Requirements
Service, fault finding, and repair of decontamination equipment, including steam sterilisers, washer disinfectors, and endoscopy reprocessors.
Support commissioning, periodic testing, and validation activities in line with regulatory standards.
Ensure compliance with HTM guidance, ISO, and BS EN standards.
Complete accurate service, validation, and compliance documentation.
Conduct insurance inspections and compliance reporting.
Deliver professional, customer-focused technical support within regulated healthcare environments.
Person Specifications
In-depth knowledge of decontamination, validation, and medical device servicing, including: Steam sterilisers, Washer disinfectors, Endoscopy reprocessors
WTM1, STM2, or STM3 qualification (Eastwood Park qualifications considered).
Strong understanding of HTM 01-01 to HTM 01-06.
Knowledge of ISO 9001.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Knowledge of ISO 13485.
Strong fault-finding and rectification capability.
Professional registration: EngTech, IEng, or CEng.
3–5+ years’ experience in medical device servicing, validation engineering, or healthcare estates engineering.
Experience working within NHS or regulated healthcare environments.
Competent Person (Decontamination) CP(D).
Experience managing multi-site engineering teams and delivering compliance, uptime, and performance KPIs.

Base salary reaching £48,000.
