Shimadzu, renowned for its leadership in analytical instrumentation, has launched the UV-1900i Plus UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, an advanced iteration of its highly popular UV-1900 series that has achieved global sales of over one million units. This next-generation model promises significant improvements in speed and sensitivity, empowering laboratories with enhanced capabilities for trace-level substance detection across various applications.

The UV-1900i Plus sets itself apart with a 25% reduction in noise level and the ability to perform ultra-fast scans at speeds up to 29,000 nm/min, owing to its enhanced hardware and optimised optics. Its double-beam optical design maintains a 1 nm resolution, ensuring highly accurate and reproducible results. This versatile instrument offers six measurement modes, encompassing applications from photometric to bio-methods, making it a valuable asset across the life sciences spectrum. Additionally, assist functions streamline operations by verifying and automating tasks like baseline and blank cheques, reducing potential errors.

With its high-contrast touchscreen and expanded software functionalities, the UV-1900i Plus is particularly suited for regulated environments. Its features, such as automatic pass/fail determination and quantitative range cheques, resonate well in scenarios demanding compliance with standards such as JP, USP, and EP. As an embodiment of precision, usability, and reliability, the UV-1900i Plus stands poised to make a substantial impact in laboratory settings, fostering greater accuracy and efficiency in scientific research.
