Business Development Manager
Role Overview
We are seeking a high-performing sales professional with a proven ability to generate new opportunities and maximise existing partnerships within the NHS. This role demands someone who understands the complexities of NHS procurement and decision-making, and who can balance exceptional customer support with a relentless focus on retaining and growing revenue and margins.

We are partnered with a leading provider of high-quality personal protective equipment (PPE), respiratory protective equipment (RPE), and medical consumables. Serving the healthcare sector nationwide, the company offers a comprehensive portfolio including infection prevention products, surgical gowns, theatre supplies, and fit-testing services, supporting 95% of NHS Trusts across the UK.
Role Requirements
· Drive Growth: Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within NHS organisations and healthcare providers.
· Account Management: Retain and grow existing accounts, ensuring long-term relationships and revenue expansion.
· Sales Cycle Ownership: Manage the full sales process from prospecting to closing, onboarding, and ongoing support.
· Customer Success: Deliver exceptional service while maintaining a commercial focus on profitability and margin improvement.
· Strategic Engagement: Build strong relationships with NHS decision-makers, including procurement teams, clinicians, and senior management.
· Market Expertise: Navigate NHS procurement frameworks and supply pathways confidently.
· Presentation & Training: Deliver compelling presentations and product training to diverse audiences.
· Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (contracts, marketing, customer service, QA) to ensure seamless delivery.
· Reporting: Fully utilise the CRM system, including quote generation. Provide accurate forecasts, pipeline updates, and competitor insights.
Person Specifications
· Experience selling RPE and PPE is desirable.
· Experience in the sale of medical consumables is preferred.
· Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets within the NHS or the wider healthcare environment.
· Strong working knowledge of NHS structures, including procurement pathways and relevant frameworks.
· Excellent presentation, communication, and training skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
