Field Applications Scientist
Role Overview
Your daily engagement with customers will include delivering hands-on training and support for product usage on-site and remotely, ensuring their success with our technology.
In addition to training, you will offer expert guidance on experimental design, data analysis, logistics, and troubleshooting to customers across your assigned region. By working closely with in-house Technical Support, you will serve as a reliable point of contact for addressing customer concerns and building long-lasting relationships.
This is a field based role supporting our European customer base with ~60% travel.

Role Requirements
Interact:
– A thirst for knowledge about spatial Biology and help our customers advance their research
– Acting as the main point of contact between the customer and company regarding technical inquiries
– Conduct training with customers and provide information on any advancements in their technology, instruments, and software.
– Plan, coordinate, and perform customer demonstrations and trainings.
– Troubleshoot, document, and communicate customer feedback
– Provide sales and marketing teams with competitive product insight and feedback
Engage:
– Collaborate with customers in scientific discussions, building long-lasting relationships
– Partner with customers as they advance their research using their instruments
– Foster positive and productive relationships with customers, while managing expectations and exceeding their needs
– Share customer feedback, including usage cases beyond the initial product scope, with the Marketing and Product Development teams to drive strategic growth
– Ability to recognise and solve complex problems
– Spend time on-site with customers to help them generate and analyse data
Assist:
– Troubleshoot technical, biochemical, and experimental challenges related to the use of our instruments and software.
– Translate customer needs and escalate issues within our organization efficiently and effectively.
– Represent our brand and support sales efforts at trade shows, seminars, and technical symposiums, engaging with thought leaders and delivering impactful presentations
– Remain calm and professional in potentially stressful customer support situations, providing the best possible service experience
– Support sales representatives via product demonstrations, presentations and trade shows.
– Accept other tasks as requested
Person Specifications
Minimum Qualifications:
– Master’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related field. PhD preferred
– Experience in technical support, field applications or working in a commercial environment
– Experience with immunohistochemistry, fluorescent imaging techniques and data analysis
– Knowledge of microtomy, cryosectioning, histology, tissue embedding and tissue handling techniques
– Demonstration of using your own initiative and gaining expertise in new technologies
– Strong customer orientation and ability to remain calm in stressful customer situations
– Demonstrated ability to establish strong partnerships with internal and external partners
– Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively to diverse audiences through both written and oral communications
– Ability to adapt in a high pace / start-up environment
– Fluent English, business level German a bonus
– Driving License
– Ability to travel within Europe and the UK
