Field Service Engineer
Role Overview
We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join a specialist service team supporting advanced medical devices within hospital environments across London. This role combines hands-on engineering with clinical application support, focused on ensuring systems are installed, maintained, and performing reliably in real-world settings.
Working closely with healthcare professionals, you will take ownership of system performance in your region, applying structured fault-finding, preventative maintenance, and user support to ensure devices operate safely, consistently, and in line with specification.

Role Requirements
Carry out maintenance and servicing of lithotripter, X-ray, and ultrasound systems, ensuring consistent system performance and reliability.
Install new systems and manage the safe decommissioning of existing equipment within clinical environments.
Provide structured clinical application training to urologists and clinical staff, supporting correct system use.
Maintain regular communication with customers, ensuring service activities are clearly understood and issues are resolved effectively.
Work closely with hospital staff, clinical engineers, and internal teams to support equipment implementation and ongoing operation.
Troubleshoot and diagnose electro-mechanical faults, ensuring all service, repair, and documentation activities are completed accurately and in line with defined procedures.
Person Specifications
Qualified Engineer or equivalent experience within a medical device or field service environment
Strong electro-mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic capability.
Experience working on capital medical equipment within hospital environments.
X-ray or diagnostic imaging experience is highly desirable.
Strong IT skills, including system connectivity knowledge such as networking and DICOM/HL7 (advantageous)
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work directly with clinical staff.
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Well organised, with the ability to manage multiple service activities effectively.
Full UK driving licence required.
Willingness to travel extensively within the role.
Package
£38,000 – £40,000 (dependent on experience).
