Ultrasound Service Engineer
Role Overview
This Field Service Engineer role is focused on the installation, maintenance, and ongoing performance of ultrasound imaging systems across healthcare environments. You will take ownership of ensuring systems are operating reliably, supporting both new installations and existing equipment in clinical use.
Working across a defined region, you will engage directly with clinical teams while managing service activity independently. The role centres on maintaining system uptime, resolving technical issues efficiently, and ensuring all work is completed in line with quality and regulatory standards.

Role Requirements
Carry out service, maintenance, and repair of ultrasound imaging systems, ensuring consistent performance and reliability.
Diagnose and resolve faults across electrical, electronic, and software systems using structured troubleshooting approaches.
Install and commission new systems, including conducting pre-installation site checks and validations.
Complete planned preventative maintenance in line with service agreements and quality standards.
Support system upgrades and modifications, ensuring all changes are implemented correctly and documented.
Maintain accurate service records and provide technical support to customers and internal teams, ensuring compliance with ISO standards.
Person Specifications
Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer within healthcare or medical devices.
Experience working with ultrasound systems is highly desirable.
Electrical or electronic engineering qualification such as HNC, HND, or equivalent preferred.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability across complex systems.
Experience installing, servicing, and maintaining capital equipment.
Basic IT and networking knowledge, particularly within Windows-based environments, is advantageous.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with clinical users.
Ability to work independently and manage workload across a regional territory.
Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel, including occasional overnight stays.
