What You’ll Do:
– Provide first-class technical support to customers, resolving issues quickly and efficiently.
– Troubleshoot and repair equipment, ensuring optimal performance in hospital and laboratory settings.
– Conduct preventative maintenance to keep instruments running smoothly.
– Install upgrades and provide engineering support for system interfaces.
– Travel across Southwest (Reading to Truro) UK and occasionally wider UK travel to deliver top-tier service.

Role Requirements

· Maintain inventory of parts and supplies
· Install and repair scientific instrumentation manufactured by Luminex Corporation at customer locations within a multi-state geographic region.
· Manage an expense account, service tools and spare parts inventories.
· Interface daily with internal and external customers
· Submit written reports
· Utilize the CRM system to capture full documentation of all calls and entering appropriate codes to ensure accurate history of reporting trends and corrective actions
· Meeting departmental expectations regarding the following:
· Response time
· PM completion Rates
· Service callbacks
· Customer Satisfaction Survey Results
· Other duties as assigned
Person Specifications
– Education: A Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferred) or equivalent qualifications like HNC/HND.
– Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a related field, such as:
– Field Service Engineering within medical or laboratory environments.
– Working with electromechanical equipment in regulated industries.
– A background as a Medical Laboratory Technician with engineering interest is a bonus!
– Skills: Strong practical, problem-solving, and electromechanical engineering abilities.
– Personality: Excellent customer service skills, a can-do attitude, and a passion for keeping customers happy and their systems running smoothly.
– Flexibility: A full UK driver_s license, a willingness to travel at short notice, and the occasional overseas trip for training.
