Field Service Engineer
Role Overview
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, calibration, validation, maintenance and repair of environmental monitoring systems and associated scientific equipment.
Working across pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare and research facilities, you will support customers with both planned and reactive service activities whilst ensuring equipment operates in accordance with regulatory and customer requirements.
This is a highly varied position offering exposure to a wide range of technologies and customer environments. Engineers can expect regular UK travel and overnight stays, with no two weeks being the same.

Our client is a leading provider of environmental monitoring solutions used within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare and research environments. Their systems play a critical role in protecting temperature-sensitive products, research samples and regulated processes across some of the UK’s most demanding scientific facilities.
Due to continued growth and internal team changes, they are looking to appoint a Field Service Engineer to support customers throughout the UK.
Role Requirements
Install, commission and validate monitoring systems and scientific equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance, calibration and repair activities.
Troubleshoot electrical, electronic and networking-related faults.
Conduct equipment validation and complete associated documentation.
Support customers with system operation and provide training where required.
Work closely with internal project and technical teams during installations.
Ensure all service activities are completed in accordance with company procedures.
Maintain accurate service reports and records.
Deliver a high level of customer service whilst representing the business on-site.
Travel throughout the UK supporting a broad range of customers and facilities.
Person Specifications
The successful candidate will possess a strong engineering background, excellent fault-finding skills and a proactive approach to customer support.
You may currently be working within scientific instrumentation, laboratory equipment, medical devices, environmental monitoring, refrigeration, HVAC controls, security systems or other technical service environments.
Essential Requirements:
Experience servicing, installing, maintaining or commissioning technical equipment.
Strong electrical or electro-mechanical fault-finding skills.
Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.
Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
A flexible approach to travel and working hours.
Full UK driving licence.
Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK, including overnight stays.
Desirable Experience:
Calibration and/or validation activities.
GMP, GLP or other regulated working environments.
Scientific, laboratory or medical device equipment.
Environmental monitoring systems.
Temperature-controlled or refrigeration equipment.
Networking, wireless technologies or sensor-based systems.
Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare or research environments.

Package
Salary dependant on experience – £40,000-£45,000 (Can be sretched to £50,000 for GMP/GLP Validation experience)
Accrued bonus dependent on how many nights an engineer stays away from home + company bonus
Just been implemented – i.e. quarterly performance £500 per quarter – £2,000 per annum
Hotel bonus – £250 to £1500 per quarter
