Role Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Engineer to join an established technical services team supporting diagnostic instrumentation across the Midlands region.
The role will involve the installation, maintenance, repair and calibration of advanced laboratory diagnostic systems used within NHS and clinical laboratory environments. You will be responsible for ensuring equipment operates reliably while delivering a high level of customer support across your territory.
This position offers a regional territory with minimal overnight stays, extensive product training and the opportunity to work with market-leading diagnostic technologies.

Role Requirements
Responsibilities:
Carry out planned preventative maintenance on diagnostic instrumentation.
Diagnose and repair electrical, electronic and mechanical faults.
Install and commission new systems at customer sites.
Complete service documentation and technical reports accurately.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers.
Manage spare parts inventory and company equipment.
Build strong relationships with laboratory and healthcare professionals.
Participate in an occasional weekend telephone support rota.
Person Specifications
Previous Field Service Engineering experience supporting electrical, electronic or electromechanical equipment.
Background within IVD/Diagnostics, Medical Devices, Scientific Instrumentation, Laboratory Equipment, or Military Engineering highly desirable.
Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Experience carrying out installations, preventative maintenance and repairs.
Customer-focused with strong communication skills.
Able to work independently and manage a regional territory.
Strong attention to detail and ability to complete technical documentation accurately.
Engineering qualification (Electrical, Electronic, Biomedical or similar) advantageous.
Full UK Driving Licence

£45,000 – £50,000 basic salary
Up to £52,000 for exceptional candidates
