Field Service Engineer
Role Overview
Our client is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support customers across the South West and South Wales. You’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, fault finding, repairing and installing a range of laboratory diagnostic instrumentation within NHS pathology laboratories, ensuring customers receive a high level of technical support and minimal equipment downtime.

Role Requirements
Carry out preventative maintenance, servicing and breakdown repairs on diagnostic instrumentation.
Diagnose and resolve electrical, electronic, mechanical and software faults.
Install, commission and relocate laboratory equipment.
Perform hardware and software upgrades in line with manufacturer procedures.
Provide technical support both remotely and on customer sites.
Complete accurate service documentation and maintain vehicle stock levels.
Build strong customer relationships whilst managing your own territory.
Attend manufacturer training and participate in the on-call rota once fully trained.
Person Specifications
Previous Field Service Engineering experience on complex electrical or electronic equipment.
Background within IVD, scientific instrumentation, semiconductor equipment or military engineering would be advantageous.
Strong electrical/electronic fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Excellent customer-facing communication and organisational skills.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South West and South Wales.
Need to be willing to potentially have to stay away from home 1 or 2 nights a week.
Engineering qualifications are desirable.
