Area Sales Manager
Role Overview
You will be responsible for achieving agreed sales and profit targets while developing strong, long-term relationships with both existing and prospective customers. You will lead the full sales cycle, from identifying key stakeholders through to tender submission, contract management and successful implementation. You will act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring smooth communication, excellent customer experience and effective new product adoption.

Role Requirements
Achieve and exceed sales, revenue and KPI targets across your territory.
Manage and grow business with existing customers while developing new opportunities.
Identify and engage key decision-makers and stakeholders within customer organisations.
Lead and coordinate tender projects, developing high-quality, competitive proposals.
Manage contracts and ensure compliance, including working with Managed Service Providers.
Drive demand for new assays and instrumentation and support successful product launches.
Deliver commercial and scientific presentations aligned to customer needs.
Project manage implementations through to successful go-live.
Monitor competitor activity and customer trends, sharing insights internally.
Maintain accurate CRM records and manage territory planning and reporting.
Work closely with internal colleagues to develop customer-specific strategies.
Person Specifications
You will be a driven, results-oriented sales professional with strong experience in the NHS and IVD market, comfortable managing complex accounts and tender processes.
Experience & Knowledge
Proven experience selling to the NHS at multiple levels, ideally within IVD.
Experience managing and negotiating contracts, including third-party arrangements.
Demonstrated success in preparing and submitting winning tenders.
Ability to manage multiple accounts, including high-profile customers.
Qualifications
Degree (or equivalent) in a scientific, technical or electronics-related discipline.
Fluent in English.
Skills & Attributes
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Commercially focused, analytical and target driven.
Proactive, adaptable and comfortable driving change and improvement.
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM systems.
Willingness to travel extensively within the UK and stay away from home when required.
